How to Write an E-Commerce Project Plan (CTGE 443A, CEUs: 0.6)

In this course you will learn how to write an effective e-commerce project plan. Essential through advanced elements will be covered with real-world examples and case studies. Gain the knowledge you need to analyze any situation in which an e-commerce project is being planned. You will learn to recognize the essential elements of that plan and to effectively assemble it to carry out the project. Topics include:
  • Project planning process
  • Basic elements of an e-commerce plan
  • Advanced elements of an e-commerce plan
  • How e-commerce planning differs from traditional project planning
  • Transitioning from project planning to project management

Activities include role-playing to show how different objectives and concerns must be addressed when creating the plan and case study discussions to share ideas and approaches to analyzing situations. Reading materials: none required, but any text on project management can provide a helpful background. Case studies and sample project plans will be provided.

Special note: if you are a project manager with several years of experience, you can substitute this course with any other ECM program elective or specifically How to Build an E-Commerce Business Plan (CTGE 443O).

Prerequisite: Electronic Commerce Management (ECM): The Big Picture (ctge 443) is recommended.
